Police arrest 3 notorious kidnappers with N3.6m suspected ransom money in Katsina

Katsina State Police Command has paraded over ten suspects with various criminal offences.

The Police Public Relations Officer of The Command, SP Gambo Isah paraded the suspects during a press briefing which held at the command headquarters.

Those paraded include three suspected members of a kidnapping gang who were arrested in possession of over Three million and six hundred thousand Naira suspected to be a ransom given to their group by the families of a kidnapped victim.

According to SP Gambo Isah the Suspects were arrested by a team of Police men attached to Faskari Divisional Police office along the Yankara Faskari axis.

“On 25/02/2021 at about 13:00hrs, Police Patrol Team, attached to Faskari Division, while on routine patrol along Funtua – Yankara road, accosted the trio of (1) Lawali Duna, ‘M’. aged 40yrs, (2) Muhammadu Lawali Babuga, ‘M’, aged 22yrs and (3) Hussaini Abubakara, ‘M’, aged 30yrs of Kunkurmi village, Bungudu LGA of Zamfara state, notorious members of syndicate of bandits and kidnappers terrorizing Katsina and Zamfara states.

“Nemesis caught up with the suspects when they were intercepted on their way back to Zamfara state from Kaduna after collecting ransom money from the relatives of a kidnapped victim.

“In the course of investigation suspects confessed to the commission of the offences”, he said.

Similarly, the Command paraded a suspected Cattle rustler who was arrested in possession of two Stolen Cows at Sheme Market.

This is in addition to the arrest of a member of Armed Bandits gang who was arrested with one AK47 Rifle and three Magazines among others.

SP Gambo Isah drew the attention of people not to relent in feeding the Police with useful information that will assist in arresting Criminals.

The PPRO who said all the suspects have confessed to the committing of the said crime noting that they will be taken to Court for prosecution upon completion of investigation.
