Mr Mohammed Falali, Comptroller, Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) uncharged of Adamawa, has warned officers and men to shun indiscipline and acts capable of tarnishing the image of the service.
Falali, gave the charge at the Passing-Out-Parade ceremony of 176 commissioned officers on Friday in Yola.
He advised the officers to be good conduct and worthy ambassadors of the Service wherever they found themselves.
“The passing out officers are all Adamawa indigenes, they comprise 24 Assistant Superintendent of Immigration II, 43 Assistant Inspectors of Immigration and 109 Immigration Assistants, respectively.
“I urge everyone of you to shun any acts indiscipline capable of tarnishing the image of the service.
“My hope is that everyone of you will show excellent performance and professionalism in discharging your duties,” he said.
In his remarks, Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri, congratulated the new inducted officers for the successful completion of the training exercise.
Fintiri, represented by Mr Sulaiman Palam, Permanent Secretary, Security/Special Duties, charged the personnel to intensify efforts towards apprehending illegal aliens coming into the country.
He also advised the officers to always be guided by the rules governing the operations of the Sevice premised on honesty and professionalism.
According to him, the state government will continue to collaborate with security agencies to end criminalities, protect lives and property.
